With Big Billion Days to Big Billion Sales
Festivals! A time for joy, enthusiasm, and most importantly business.
India is a country with many religions and numerous festivals that are celebrated all year round. These festivals promote faith, joy, and brotherhood but they are also the biggest factor that boosts revenue for all types of businesses in the country. In India, people spend thousands during such festivals to purchase commodities such as clothes, food, jewelry and electronics for themselves and gifting.
E-commerce platforms have been taking advantages of the festivals too. They place their offers and promotions strategically around the festive season to get maximum sales. However, this year the rivalry between Amazon and Flipkart is worth noticing as these e-commerce giants have to adhere to the guidelines laid down by the government while clocking in the highest sales.
Amazon’s festive plans are yet to be unveiled but Flipkart seems to have hit the masterstroke already. The brand is looking forward to tackling the problem which earlier seemed impossible –transit and delivery.
India is Flipkart’s home-grown market, thus it has been tailoring its services to meet the requirements of the Indian audiences. This year the company has decided to extend its services to the remote corners of the country and increase its reachability by 80 percent. Flipkart claims that they have expanded their reach from 19,200 PIN codes from about 10,660 codes in 2018 for the delivery of large appliances.
While addressing about the same, Flipkart senior vice president Ajay Yadav said in a statement “This festive season, we are extending our reach to newer regions, aiming to cover almost all the serviceable pin-codes across the country. We are glad that this year, our consumers from Metros to tier 2 cities and beyond, who didn’t have access to a wide range of appliances previously, will be able to shop from our entire product range.”
Customers from all around the country will be able to order smart TVs, refrigerators and washing machines. Flipkart also said “Over the past year, while the demand for Android Smart TVs grew times in metros, smaller towns showed impressive growth with a 5 times increase in demand. Other products such as water purifiers and air conditioners are also witnessing growth on the back of high awareness on the latest technology.”
The company has also increased its delivery capacity by 14 times this year as compared to last year. This means the products will be delivered sooner and with fewer hassles.
While Flipkart is equipped with extended delivery and a massive plethora of products at amazing discounts, Amazon may have to come up with a better strategy to level the playing field.
Flipkart’s extended delivery can also benefit the vendors to gain customers from the different corners of the country. You can benefit from this golden opportunity by registering yourself on Flipkart with step-by-step guidance from seasoned e-commerce managers. Click here to know more.
